This project was done before LED became mainstream but was challenging. The Irish FA required a continuous linear T5 system with low glare rating and AR111 accent lighting. The whole system was controlled by microwave sensors built into the fittings.

To add to the specification they also wanted indirect lighting coming from the fitting to up-light the ceiling.

By having a bespoke louvre made we were able to get the glare rating to UGR 17 whilst building the housing out of aluminium rather than the conventional mild-steel construction which is often favoured in these types of fittings.

Reasoning behind this was that with a continuous system, the load bearing of the ceiling had to be taken into account hence the use of aluminium ( a much lighter material) as a construction medium.
