For White LED strip:

12V is ideal for lower wattage LED strip such as 4.8W and 9.6W. This will give full brightness along the strip up to around 6m. Anything after that you will get a voltage drop. Standard LED strip will come in 5m reels as this is the optimum maximum length. 12V LED strip should be avoided in the 14.4w LED strip, this does not have enough voltage to give continuous brightness throughout the 5m reel, you will start to see a volage drop around 3m meaning less brightness. 12V LED strip in 14.4w is no commercial grade

24V LED strip is ideal for the 14.4w and 19.2w LED strip, this will give enough voltage to give 100% brightness along the 5m reel and can even stretch up to just over 6m before you notice a voltage drop. Cut points will be ever 6 LED's.

Warning: Avoid 12v 14.4W LED strip this should be 24V only.

What is the difference between the 12V and the 24V LED Strip?

For RGB Colour changing LED Strip:

12v can be used for the 7.2W LED strip, this will give maximum reels of 5m and will give 100% brightness till the end of the strip. Avoid 12v RGB 14.4W LED strip as this is not enough voltage to give 100% along the full 5m reel, after around 3m you will start to get a voltage drop and therefore less brightness.

24V in 7.2w LED strip comes in 10m reels. Cut points every 6 LED's (200mm) 24v should also onnly be used in the 14.4w LED strip as this will give enough voltage to give 100% brightness along the 5m reel.
